Confinement induced resonance in spin-orbit coupled cold atoms    [PDF]

Yi-Cai Zhang, Shu-Wei Song, Wu-Ming Liu
A two-body scattering in quasi-one dimension and confinement induced resonance (CIR) in the presence of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and Zeeman field are investigated. It is shown that, the scattering properties strongly depend on the scattering energy and the interaction strength. There exist resonance peaks in the scattering amplitude, which relate to the existence of quasi-bound states embedded between the energy branches. We analytically obtain the one dimensional effective interaction constant in term of three dimensional s-wave scattering length and extract the confinementinduced resonance condition. The universal scattering amplitude indicates the occurrence of the confinement induced resonance (CIR).
